VILLE PLATTE – Angela Kaye Guillory Ardoin passed away peacefully on
Saturday, March 25, 2023, the Solemnity of The Annunciation, at Lake
Charles Memorial Hospital at the age of 67. She was surrounded by her
family singing the Divine Mercy chaplet. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at St. Peter’s Catholic
Church in Pine Prairie at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the St. Peter’s
Cemetery with Father Billy Massie conducting services.
Angela was born on Tuesday, March 6, 1956 in Mamou, Louisiana to
Harold and Ruby Guillory. She was born second in her large Catholic
family of nine. She attended Mamou High School and graduated in
1974. It was then, in her senior year, she met her dedicated husband,
Al Ardoin.
Angie was known as Mom, Granny, or T-Granny, and Giggle Box (a
nickname her grandmother Bernadette gave her) that reflected her
personality perfectly. Angela was a resident of Pine Prairie whose most
joyous job was that of being a homemaker and ensuring that her family
was well taken care of. Angie was well known in the Pine Prairie
community as a cashier at the once known “Don’s Grocery”, where she
greeted everyone with her friendly smile and laughter for 22 years. On
Sundays you could find her in her kitchen cooking for her family whom
she loved dearly and never missed the opportunity to let them know
how much they made her heart full. In her spare time, Angela enjoyed
spending time with family, shopping, going out to dinner and watching
movies.
Angela was a loving, caring mother, daughter, grandmother and sister.
Angie’s greatest accomplishment in life was raising her two loving and
devoted children, Amy and Kipp; and her greatest joy was supporting
them through childhood endeavors and encouraging them through
their education. There is no doubt she was their biggest fan. She will be
greatly missed and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she
loved.
Angela is survived by her husband of 47 blessed years, Al Ardoin;
mother, Ruby Guillory; daughter, Amy Ortego and husband,
Jeremy; son, Kipp Ardoin and wife, Catherine; and eight grandchildren:
Sydni Ortego, Ella Ortego, Emeric Ortego, Adley Ardoin, Eli Ardoin,
Camille Ardoin, Samuel Ardoin, and Mary Margaret Ardoin. Also left
behind to cherish her memory are her sisters, Stephanie Guillory and
Rachael Guillory and brothers, Paul Guillory, Patrick Guillory, and
Christopher Guillory.
Angela now joins in Heaven her father, Harold Guillory; brothers, Mark
Guillory and Kendall Guillory; and sister, Myra Guillory Savoy.
