VILLE PLATTE – A private graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 28, 2020 for Archie Joseph Briley, age 89, who passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020 in Ville Platte.
Burial will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Grand Prairie.
Archie Joseph Briley was born on May 3, 1930 to Clifton and Marceline Trouille Briley in Washington, Louisiana. Archie was a hard working man; he was a cotton and sweet potato farmer. In addition to farming, Archie also raised cattle. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by those that knew him.
Archie is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara Ann Soileau Briley of Grand Prairie; son, Mark Briley and wife Melissa of Grand Prairie; daughter Sonia Ayo and husband Ernest of St. Francisville; daughter-in-law, Charlene Briley of Plaisance; step-daughters, Judy Yielding and husband Carl and Susan Tortorich and husband, Walter both of St. Landry; brothers James Briley of Opelousas and Clyde Briley and wife Mary of Crowley; and sister Rita Gail Soileau and husband, Warren of Washington. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his nine grandchildren: Jaimee Pangburn, Jennifer Ayo, Jeanne Marie Ayo, Jonathan Ayo, Nicole Leblanc, Jodi Arkell, Laurie Vicknair, Steven Briley, and Scott Briley and 16 great grandchildren.
Archie is preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Marceline Trouille Briley; first wife, Mae Dell Brignac Briley; son, Miles Briley; brother, Anthony Briley; and sisters, Emma Lou Vidrine and Eloise Roberie.
