Archie Rollins

TURKEY CREEK - A Funeral Service will be held for Archie “Duke” Rollins at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at First United Pentecostal Church in Turkey Creek. Pastor Jeff Wainwright will conduct services.

Archie “Duke” Rollins, 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 30, 2022. He was born on July 11, 1930, in Ville Platte to Leon and Anita Rollins. “Duke” as he was known to all of his family and friends worked as a pipe liner with Ashley Construction for many years.  He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time outdoors.  He loved gardening and playing his guitar. His family will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his daughter, Lou Ella Rollins Carlin; sons, Steve Richard Rollins and wife, Diane; Patrick Dale Rollins and wife, Mathilda; six grandchildren, Candice Wallace, Jacob Rollins, Chris Rollins, Ruby Diane Rollins, Patrick Rollins, Jr., and Meagan Rollins LeBlanc; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Betty Zagar and Ruth Fontenot; and one brother, George Rollins.

Archie is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Anita Rollins; wives, Ruby Mae Byrd Rollins and Geneva Rollins; grandchildren, Marsha Renee Carlin and Shelly Lynn Carlin; and 3 brothers; and 5 sisters.

Visitation will be held at First United Pentecostal Church of Turkey Creek on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 8:00 AM until time of service.
