VILLE PLATTEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Austin Jim Richard announces his passing on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Lafayette General Medical Center. He was 65. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park with Father Josh Guillory as Celebrant.

Jim served his country proudly in the United States Air force. He was retired from B.P. Oil. He enjoyed gardening, loved nature, fishing and traveling. He will be missed dearly by his mother, Edmay Richard of Ville Platte a son, William Richard of Metairie a daughter, Andrea Richard of Carencro two sisters, Millie Dufrene of Lafayette and Ethel Fontenot of Baton Rouge and five grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Hursey Richard and a brother, Vernon Richard.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Thursday, September 13th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am Thursday.
