Barbara Deshotel

VILLE PLATTE - A Funeral Service will be held for Barbara R. Deshotel at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ville Platte, LA.  Burial will take place in Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

Barbara R. Deshotel, 75, passed away on peacefully on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Heritage Manor in Opelousas, LA. Barbara was a compassionate, loving, and caring mother and grandmother. She loved and served her church community.  Barbara enjoyed sewing and making outfits using old patterns. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Deshotel Angelle and husband, Aubrey of Leonville and Debora Deshotel of Alexandria; and her granddaughter, Naomi Angelle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald “Don” Deshotel; parents, George and Carrie Richard; and brothers, Leancy Richard and Ronald Richard.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Sunday, January 15, 2023, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Monday, January 16, 2023, from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM.
