A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Bobbie F. McCauley, 81, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 3, 2020.
Father Andrew Killeen will be celebrant of the Mass and conduct the services.
Interment will take place at Gates of Heaven.
Mrs. McCauley never missed an opportunity to live her life to its fullest. She grew up in Mamou where, as a child, she loved Mardi Gras. Mrs. Bobbie Jane was a Bingo champion. She liked going to the casino. From time to time she enjoyed a “toddy” or two. She always greeted everyone with a kind word and a smile. You could not visit her without bringing boudin. She attended Mass and prayed her Rosery faithfully. Mrs. Bobbie Jane became the Heritage Manor Queen for Valentine’s Day and the Cotton Festival on several occasions. She also was the President of the Residential Counsel at Heritage Manor. She even was the second runner up at the Senior Olympics in the Horseshoe contest.
She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Brown of Ville Platte; grandson, Michael Brown and wife Daisy of Grand Prairie; great grandchildren, Alaina Matte, Hillary Marks, and Trent Richard.
She is preceded in death by her parents Eulise Fontenot and Armide Ardoin Fontenot; husband, Joseph Lenis McCauley; son-in-law, Glenn Brown Sr.; granddaughter, Casey Ann Brown Webb; great grandson, Colby Jeansonne; brothers, Ray Fontenot, Floyd Fontenot, Howard Fontenot, and Lee Fontenot; and sister, Eula O’Conner.
At the request of the family, visitation will take place at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM by Deacon Ben Soileau. Visitation will resume Monday at 9:00 AM until time of service.
