VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of all Saints Catholic Church in Ville Plate on Monday, December 14, 2020 for Dallas Wayne Vizena, 77, who passed away on December10, 2020 in at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans following a long illness.
Father Andrew Killeen will be celebrant of the Mass and will conduct funeral services.
Burial will take place in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
Dallas Wayne Vizena was born on November 5, 1943 to Dallas Shelton Vizena and Vernice Deshotel Vizena in Basile, LA. Dallas worked as a teacher in the education field. He helped develop the minds of countless young people. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Dallas loved spending time with his family who meant the world to him.
Dallas is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Ortego Vizena; two daughters, Mariecha Vizena Joubert and Shelly Vizena both of Ville Platte; one son, Joseph Wayne Vizena of Port Allen; two grandchildren, Lauren Joubert and Nicholas Joubert; one brother, Scotty Jude Vizena and wife Elda “Sis” of Basile; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Dallas is preceded in death by his parents, Dallas Shelton Vizena and Vernice Deshotel Vizena; and one sister, Jane Vizena Burge.
At the request of the family, visitation will be observed on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM by Deacon Gary Gaudin. Visitation will resume Monday, December 14, from 8:00 AM until time of service.
