VILLE PLATTE - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Doward "Frank" Fontenot, 68, announces his passing at Savoy Medical Center on Sunday, August 23, 2015. A Catholic Service will take place in his honor on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Chataignier. Deacon Chuck Ortego will officiate services.
Frank as he was called by those that knew him was the owner and operator of Frank's Auto and Truck Repair for over 40 years. After retirement he enjoyed farming sweet potatoes and vegetables. His greatest love however was that of spending time with his beloved wife of 27 years, Constance "Connie" Stanek Fontenot and his family. He was a caring and loving father to three sons: David Johnson and wife Tammy of Tate Cove, Scott Johnson and companion Lisa Johnson of Bayou Chicot, and Richard Alagad of Chataignier and four daughters: Mary Veillon of Lanse Au Pailles, Louise Vidrine and husband John Roderick of Belaire Cove, Linda McGee of Ville Platte, and Christina LeJeune and husband William of Chataignier. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his three brothers: Stanley Fontenot and wife Gloria of Reddell, Steven Fontenot and companion Janelle Marks of Point Blue, and Roderick Richard and wife Brenda of Evangeline, six sisters: Loretta Prejean and husband Charles of Carencro, Anna Veillon and husband Darryl of Lanse Au Pailles, Brenda Fontenot and husband Benny of Ville Platte, Linda Chapman and husband Gerald of Pine Prairie, JoAnn Carrol and husband Johnny of Hornbeck, and Irene Armand and husband Ed of Ville Platte, sixteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He now rests in Heaven with his parents Rudolph and Lou Elda LeBleu Fontenot, brother Pierre "Tiny" Fontenot, and sister Mary Joyce Johnson. They will once again be graced with his big beautiful smile and friendly wave.
At the request of the Fontenot family, visitation will take place at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Monday, August 24, 2015 beginning at 3:00 PM and continuing until time of service. A rosary will be recited Monday evening at 6:00 PM.
