VILLE PLATTE - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Jacqueline "Jackie" Dupre Fontenot announces her passing on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Avoyelles Manor Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Prairie Rhonde.
A loving mother, sister and grandmother, Jackie will be greatly missed by her son Gus Fontenot of Hammond, her brother Paul Gus Dupre and wife Madeline of Opelousas and her sister Bernita "Bonnie" Dupre Parks and husband George of Opelousas. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her two grandchildren David J. Fontenot of Opelousas, Julie F. Maxey of Oklahoma City and her special niece, Jennifer McDaniel.
She now rests with her parents Talbot and Lelma Ardoin Dupre, her husband Joseph Urel Fontenot, two brothers Charles T. Dupre and Larry John Dupre and her sister, Juanita Dupre.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Tuesday, January 12 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday, January 13 from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be prayed in her honor Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM.
