John Brown

VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Saturday, January 4, 2020 for John Wayne Brown, 66, who passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 in Ville Platte.

Burial will take place in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

John Wayne Brown was born in New Orleans to Isom Joseph Brown and Ida Marie Vidrine.  He was a resident of Bayou Chicot and was described as “a Jack of all trades”.  John was knowledgeable and worked in the fields of carpentry, roofing, welding, and electrical work.  In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking, fishing, and trapping wild game.  John will be greatly missed by those that knew him.

John is survived by his sons, Jacob Brown, John Richard , and Michael Richard;  daughter, Veronica Brown; 13 grandchildren Shane Richard, Lance Richard, Travis Guillory, Brandy Richard, Brittane Brossette, Zackary Fontenot, Elizabeth Fletcher, Torakie Richard, Alexandria Richard, Chaze Richard, Tatum Richard, Jarod Richard,  and Justin Richard; and nine great grandchildren, Nicholai Brossette, Mckynzleigh Brossette, Parker Brossette, Paisleigh Malone, Carter Richard, Trip Richard, Caden Richard, Dayton Richard, and Londyn Richard.

He is preceded in death by parents, Isom Joseph Brown and Ida Marie Vidrine; his two wives, Mary Loretta Catoire Brown and Gertrude Bordelon Brown; daughters, Stephanie Ann Fontenot and Rhonda Sue Fontenot; and grandchild, Kristen Monique Richard.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Friday, January 3 from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Saturday, January 4 at 8:00 AM until time of service.
