John "Steve" Fontenot

VILLE PLATTE – Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM at M.B. Fontenot Cemetery in Ville Plate on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 for John Steven Fontenot, 69, who passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020 in Ville Platte.

Deacon Gene LeBouef will conduct funeral services.

John Steven Fontenot was born in Ville Platte, LA on September 13, 1950 to Edison B. Fontenot and Mary Jane Dupre Fontenot.  He was a longtime resident of New Orleans. After working for many years at Café Du Monde he returned Ville Platte to care for his brother.

Steve is survived by his brother, Edwin Fontenot; aunt and godmother, Emma Stelly; aunts, Mercedes Bihm, Loretta Andrus, and Luna Belle Norman; and uncle, Clifford Fontenot, Sr.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edison B. Fontenot and Mary Jane Dupre Fontenot; brother, James Warren Fontenot; and numerous aunts and uncles.
