Kathleen Morein

VILLE PLATTE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church at 10:00 AM for Kathleen Norris Morein who passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the age of 72.  Father Mitchell Guidry will conduct services and burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

Kathleen Norris Morein was born on August 18, 1950 in Ville Platte, Louisiana and was the light of her mother’s life.  Kathleen always loved everyone and wanted to make each person feel special and loved and know that they always had a friend in her.  Kathleen’s love of people is what drew her into the education field as a teacher.  She was an educator for more than 40 years and throughout that time she touched the lives and hearts of so many young people.  Kathleen was not only their teacher but also their mother figure and friend when needed.  During her career, she became a Supervisor of Education in Evangeline Parish where her heart was.  When not working, Kathleen enjoyed planting flowers, baking, and working puzzles.  Not only did she love all the humans around her, she could never resist rescuing and adopting all the animals that needed her from dogs to birds and chickens and even frogs.  Kathleen felt the most pride and joy when she thought of her family and spending time with them was her greatest joy in life.  Family was the most important thing to Kathleen and she was happiest when she was with them. All those that knew Kathleen felt the same love for her that she felt for them and they will cherish their memories of her for a lifetime.

Kathleen is survived by her husband of 14 years, Adam Peter Morein; son, Seth Norris and wife, Jessica; two daughters, Jada Ortego and husband, Chris and Ashley Veillon and husband, Kevin; and 11 grandchildren , Tyler, Nicholas, Sydney, Brianna, Ava, Kali, Genevieve, Seth Jr., Brian, Mary Catherine, and Jude.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve Foxworth and her son, Jeff Eldridge Norris.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 8:00 AM until time of service.  A rosary will be prayed in her honor Tuesday evening at 7:00­­­­­ PM.
