VILLE PLATTEIt is with great sadness that the family of Marion Soileau, Jr., 72, announces his passing on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at TriCommunity Nursing Center of Palmetto. A Funeral of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte. Interment will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery of Whiteville with Fr. Mitchell Guidry officiating the services.
Marion was a true outdoorsman, he made his living as a farmer but he was also an avid hunter and fisherman. The only thing he loved more than being with nature was his beloved family. He never married, but leaves behind a large family that will miss him very much. A loving brother and uncle, Marion leaves behind his devoted sisters: Sherry Manuel and her husband, Alvin Jr., of Baton Rouge and Terry Blood Murray of St. Landry. Also left behind to mourn are his six nieces, eleven nephews, seventeen great nieces, twentyone great nephews, five greatgreat nieces and nine greatgreat nephews his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
He now rests in Heaven with his parents, Marion and Thelma Ortego Soileau, Sr., his brother and sisterinlaw, Robert and Gladys Soileau, another brother, Vernon Soileau, his sister and brotherinlaw, Yvonne and Nelson Charlie, his brotherinlaw, Charles Blood and his nephew, Patrick A. Soileau. They have awaited his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Soileau family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 5:30 PM Tuesday, April 24, 2012 until 10:00 PM and again on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 8:00 AM and continuing until time of services. A Rosary will be recited in his honor Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM.
