Ville Platte ~It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Mary F. Fontenot, 80, announces her passing on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the MB Fontenot Cemetery.
Mrs. Mary worked for Jack Miller Barbeque Sauce for 34 years. She loved plants, gardening and was very active outdoors.
Mary will be greatly missed by her two daughters, Rita DeLoach and husband, Roland of Mamou and Patricia Dardeau and husband, Paul of Ville Platte and one son, Nathan James B. Fontenot of Ville Platte; one brother, Irvin Fontenot and wife, Judy of Bunkie, two sisters, Annie Billeaudeux of Lake Charles and Audrey Ardoin and husband Irvin of Baton Rouge; She was blessed with three granddaughters, Bridget LeBlanc, Kelly Miller and Krystal Arnaud and five and one half great-grandchildren. They were her greatest joy and she never missed an opportunity to boast about them.
She will now reunite in Heaven with her husband, Cleveland Fontenot, her parents, Felecian and Marie Vidrine Fontenot, three brothers, Oscar, Joe and Bruce Fontenot and two sisters, Carrie Vidrine and Alma LaComb.They surely await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Monday, February 2, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Monday evening. The Funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday until time of services.
