Nancy Pitre

VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 for Nancy Genevieve Pitre, 64, who passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte.

Father Tom Voorhies will be celebrant of the Mass and conduct funeral services.

Entombment will take place in the Sacred heart Mausoleum.

Nancy Genevieve Pitre was born on February 3, 1956 in Ville Platte, LA to Donald and Germaine Manuel. Nancy was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a devoted member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, sewing, and baking from which she generously shared the fruits of her labor. Her greatest love was to spend time with her family and friends.

Nancy is survived by her two sons, Andrew F. Pitre and wife, Susan J. Pitre of Peyton, CO and Josh Pitre of Carbondale, CO; and three grandchildren, Ella D. Pitre, Morgan R. Pitre and Amber C. Pitre. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her five brothers, Charles Manuel and wife Dianne of Ville Platte, Patrick Manuel and wife Deborah of Ville Platte, Carlton Manuel and wife Pamela of Ville Platte, Peter Manuel and wife Jenny of Ville Platte, Michael Manuel and wife Angela of Ville Platte and seven sisters, June Hamlin and husband Ard of Ville Platte, Janice Vidrine and husband Bradley of Ville Platte, Anna Fontenot and husband Randy of Hemphill, TX., Mary Fontenot and husband Eddie of Winnsboro, TX., Rita Soileau and husband Nick of Ville Platte, Rose Fontenot and husband Todd of Grand Prairie, and Judy Granger and husband Chris of Lafayette.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Donald A. Manuel and Germaine M. Guillory; nephew, Brandon Vidrine; and great niece, Sydney Soileau.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited in her honor on Tuesday at 9:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers a charity contribution can be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
