VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services will be held at a 10:00 AM Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Friday, December 07, 2018 for Novella "Nunu" Fontenot, 88, who passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in Ville Platte, LA surrounded by her loved ones.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Gene LeBouef at 7:00 PM Thursday. Visitation will resume on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

Father Tom Voorhies, pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Novella "NuNu" Fontenot was born on August 18, 1930 to Kirby and Luna Vidrine. NuNu was an outgoing and friendly woman who loved talking to people. She gave great advice and had a lot of love to go around. She was the owner of Reed's Superette. She loved quilting and she would make quilts to hand down to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her time she spent as a resident at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, where she touched the hearts of residents and staff with her kind and loving ways. She will be lovingly missed by all those who knew and loved this great woman.

Novella leaves behind to cherish her memories; her daugthers, Jo Ann Fontenot Guillory of Iowa, Alice Fontenot Lavergne and husband David of Baton Rouge; son, Julius Fontenot, Jr. and wife Toni; daughter, Debbie Fontenot Launey and husband Joey of Vidrine; son, Kenneth Wayne Fontenot and wife Debbie Frechette of Grand Prairie; 17 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; brother, Perry Vidrine and wife Jane of Eunice; sisters, Lizzie Mae Brown and husband Wilbert of Lawtell and Rita Faye Hargrove and husband Don of Moss Bluff; and sister in law, Joyce Miller of Lafayette.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Julius Fontenot; parents, Kirby and Luna Vidrine; son, Bobby Wayne Fontenot; son in law, Gerard Guillory; and daughter in law, Mary Beth Fontenot.
