VILLE PLATTE – Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, for Sharon Landreneau, 80, who passed away peacefully on January 4, 2020 in Eunice, LA surrounded by her loving family.
Father Tom Voorhies will conduct funeral services.
Burial will take place in Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
Sharon Landreneau was born in Pecos,TX to the late Raymond and Johnna “Billie” Roark Bowen. Sharon was a graduate of Ville Platte High School. After graduation she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University. She received many honors during her college career. She was on the Louisiana Tech Cheerleading Squad and was chosen as a Tech Beauty. She was a long-time educator for the state of Louisiana. She taught at TH Harris Vocational School, Jeff Davis Vocational, and Sowela Technical College.
Sharon and her husband Carol raised champion Catahoula show and working dogs. She was an accomplished pianist; she was also gifted with a green thumb she had an amazing flower garden. She loved spending time bass fishing at Toledo Bend. She enjoyed making many wonderful memories with her grandchildren while they stayed with her during their summer vacations. She will be deeply and sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Sharon leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband, Carol N. Landreneau: three sons Mitchel Landreneau and wife Cindy, Zachary Landreneau, and Brian Landreneau and wife Connie; three daughters, Carla Landreneau, Andrea Lassiter and husband Jerry, and Rachele McDaniel and husband Donald “Mac”; grandchildren, Bradley, Bryce, Bryanne, Lance, Victor, Jacob, Mandy, Trent, Skylar, Corey, and Taylor; numerous great-grandchildren; and sister, Susan Vidrine.
She is preceded in death by her son, Mathew Landreneau; granddaughter, Hannah Landreneau: and parents Raymond and Johnna “Billie” Roark Bowen.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 3:30 PM until 8:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Ben Soileau on Monday at 3:30 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from 9:00 AM until time of service.
The Landreneau family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Eunice Manor and Heart of Hospice for the tender care given to Mrs. Sharon.
