VILLE PLATTE- Funeral Services will be held at a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial for Sherry Comeaux, 82, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church on Monday, August 21, 2017 who passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones.

Father Jude Israel and Father Mitch Guidry will be celebrating the mass and conducting the funeral services.

Mrs. Sherry will be laid to rest in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

Mrs. Sherry touched countless lives in the community by her work at Evangeline Bank. She began her career as a Bank Teller in 1977. After retirement in 1999 she was called back to work part time, for an additional seven years. She was awarded the Ville Platte Civic Award in 1961. She set a high standard and great example as she served on the Board at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. In 2001 she began a neighborhood rosary group, always meeting at her home on Monday evenings.

Her devotion to family was apparent every day. This is where she left her legacy of faith in God, service to others and love for all. When speaking with Mrs. Sherry, it was apparent that her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She enjoyed cooking Sunday, Holiday and Birthday dinners for her family.

Her memories will live on through her family. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, John Comeaux; sons, Dr. Greg Fusilier and wife Renee and Joey Fusilier; daughter, Susan Fusilier Soileau and husband Gary; step-daughter, Mitzi Vincent and husband Craig; step-son, Jay Comeaux; grandchildren, David Fusilier, Dr. Katelyn Woodridge and husband Dr. Noah Woodridge, Adrienne Soileau Wolf and husband Thomas, Michael G. Soileau and wife Jillian, Jacob Fusilier and wife Taylor, Allison Fusilier Manuel and husband Brian and Robert Fusilier; step-grandchildren, Ryan Fontenot, Amy Fontenot Godeaux and husband Ryan and Karen Fontenot; great-grandchildren, John-Aaron Soileau, Bradley Soileau, Alexandra Wolf, Ainsleigh Wilks and Kael Fusilier; and step-great grandchildren, Blailyn Godeaux, Payton Godeaux and Jaxson Godeaux.

Mrs. Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, Jean Pierre Israel, Laurence Vidrine Israel Lafleur; step-father, Ulysse Lafleur; and siblings, Rita Israel, Beryl Cunningham, Thomas Wilman Israel, John Lowell Israel and James Arthur Israel.

The family request that visitation be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 20, 2017. Visitation will resume Monday from 8:00 AM until time of Mass.
