VILLE PLATTE-Private graveside services will be held for Shirley D. Vidrine, 82, who passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at Heritage Manor in Opelousas, LA.
Burial will take place in Gates of Heaven Cemetery at Queen of All Saints in Ville Platte.
Father Tom Voorhies, pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, will conduct services.
Shirley D. Vidrine was born on August 28, 1937 in Ville Platte, LA to Louis Demoruelle and Mary Blanche Wyble Demoruelle. She was an LPN for 20 years, graduating from Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans and practicing in Lafayette and Ville Platte. Shirley was a devout Catholic at Sacred Heart. She was a loving mother who brought up her children to have a personal relationship with God and Mary. She was an example of strength and fortitude, patiently bearing her crosses. An avid reader, Shirley had a library of spiritual books which she used to share hope and encouragement. She was also a prayer warrior, always having a novena at hand, ready to pray for those in need, the name of God always on her lips. She used her experiences to bring others closer to the Lord.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann Vidrine of Baton Rouge; Sybil Vidrine of Ville Platte; and Connie Burleigh of Ville Platte; brother, John Demoruelle of Baton Rouge, three grandchildren, Sandra Mouton, Johannah Fusilier, and Jace Morgan Fusilier; and 2 great-grandchildren Jason Mouton and Jayda Mouton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis Demoruelle and Mary Blanche Wyble Demoruelle; and sisters, Emma Joy Demoruelle and Mary Kathryn Demoruelle.
