CHATAIGNIER - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Suzanne Johnson Aguillard, 95, announces her passing on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Pine Prairie. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Chataignier with burial to follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Chataignier. Pastor Gary Mitchell will officiate services.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Monday, May 23 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, May 24 at 9:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Chataignier and last until time of service.
A loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Suzanne will be greatly missed by her daughters, Marguerite "Margo" Aguillard Boniol and husband Ed of Meeker, Louisiana and Jacqueline "Jacky" Aguillard Warburton and husband John of Mankato, Minnesota, son, Calvin Dwain Aguillard and wife Toni of Ville Platte, and sisters Nancy Johnson Moreau of Lawtell and Dorothy Johnson Aguillard Borison of Lafayette. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She now rests with her parents Fergus and Marguerite Annonciation Johnson, husband Calvin Aguillard, brother, Jesse Johnson, and sister Yvonne Johnson LaHaye Hebert.
Pallbearers for the service include: Tim Johnson, John LaHaye, Mark Warburton, Matthew Williamson, Garrett Lyon, Ben Homolka, and Nicholas Homolka.
The family would like to give special thanks to: Rev. Gary and Elaine Mitchell, Bobby and Margie Courvelle, Chataignier Baptist Church family for their prayers and visits, Joyce Letigue, special care giver, Tawanna "Cookie" Johnson, Hospice CNA, and the Prairie Manor Nursing Home staff.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Chataignier.
