Verdie Fruge

VILLE PLATTE-Mrs. Verdie Lahaye Fruge, 88, passed away at her residence on April 20, 2017 with her children by her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Father Richard Vidrine will officiate services. Mrs. Verdie will be laid to rest at the New St. Ann Mausoleum.

Mrs. Verdie was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She had a special place in everyone's heart. She enjoyed praying the rosary, cooking and spending time with her family. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Her memories will live on through her family. Mrs. Verdie is survived by her sons, Peter Fruge and wife Paula and Tim Fruge and wife Deidre, daughters, Sheila Guillory and husband Jerome, Freida Fontenot and husband Aubrey, Denise Fontenot and husband Lonnie, Martha Joseph and husband Donovan and Michelle David and husband Jody, 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She now rests with her husband, of 61 years, Clifton J. Fruge, parents, John and Olena Lahaye, and brothers, Elvin Lahaye, Aubrey Lahaye, Wilfred Lahaye and Burnel Lahaye.

Pallbearers for the service will be her grandsons, Jereme and Joseph Ardoin, Brandon and Lucas Fontenot and Ian and Drew David.
